Song Xinchao urges relic protection at Dongshan campus

Song Xinchao, deputy director of China’s State Administration of Cultural Heritage, inspected the relic discovered site at Dongshan campus of Shanxi University on Sept 3.

Chai Xiaoming, director of Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage; Wang Bin, head of the Resource Management Office of China’s State Administration of Cultural Heritage; and Liu Zhenghui, deputy director of Shanxi Culture Relics Bureau also visited the relic site.

Li Jun, director of the Department of Archaeology of History and Culture College, introduced the current excavation situation of the tombs that dates back to the Northern Dynasty.

Song believes that the remains of wooden structures discovered in the tombs from Northern Dynasty are extremely important towards the archaeological study and will provide valuable historical research materials.
