Peking University president visits SXU

Lin Jianhua, president of Peking University, visited Shanxi University (SXU) on Aug 19, with the holding of a symposium to discuss mutual academic cooperation.

Qu Xiaoli, deputy governor of Shanxi province, Gong Qihuang, vice-president of Peking University, Shi Shuai, secretary of SXU Party committee, and Jia Suotang, chancellor of SXU attended the symposium.

Qu congratulated the signing of mutual cooperation agreements between Peking University and SXU, and she hopes for SXU to pay attention to openness and communication with top universities and seize the opportunities to improve academic and scientific research through exchanges and cooperation with Peking University.

Lin spoke highly of the strategic cooperation with Shanxi University, and he believed that the signing of relevant agreements will promote the development of higher education in Shanxi province in the long run. He believes that through the joint efforts of both sides, achievements will be made in the future.

Jia pointed out that the cooperation with Peking University can set up a better platform for the school to establish the “double first class” program.
