A training course for information and culture promoters from provincial publicity departments and offices was convened at Shanxi University (SXU) on May 28.

Shi Shuai, secretary of Shanxi University Party Committee, first congratulated on the holding of the training classes. Then he introduced the measures taken by SXU in developing internet plus, big data economy and smart campus.

Since being recognized as Shanxi provincial cadre training base, the school has taken advantage of comprehensive disciplines, optimized curriculums and standardized management to improve the quality and service of training, added Shi. Since 2010, SXU has set up a total of 78 training courses and received nearly 10,000 cadres.

Guo Jian, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, mentioned three requirements for publicists. First, it’s necessary to further understand the importance of information promotion work. Second, cadres should seize the opportunities to participate in the training. Third, we must pay earnest effort to put the learning theory into practice.

Yang Weifang, deputy director of the Network Technology Center of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, introduced the development of current national information publicity situation, the construction of information and culture system, and the network publicity platform. He hoped that trainers can master theoretical theories and technologies to improve public information spreading.

More than 180 officers from municipal and county-level publicity departments and information offices took part in the training.
