Both the male and female teams from Shanxi University won the championships at the 2nd National University Water Polo Championships of 2018 in Kunming, Yunnan province.

Held from May 11 to 13, the competition received the participation of over 200 athletes from 17 universities including Sun Yat-Sen University, China University of Petroleum, China University of Geosciences, Tongji University and Xidian University.

The competition was jointly organized by the Swimming Management Center of the General Administration of Sport and Federation of University Sports of China.
