SXU holds patriotic gala

Shanxi University held a gala to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the “12.9 Students' Patriotic Movement” on Dec 8.

Nearly 2,000 faculty members and students attended the gala, which was also the first gala that Shanxi University broadcast live over the internet. Over 3,600 online viewers watched the performance.

The “12.9 Students' Patriotic Movement” was a campaign which took place on Dec 9, 1935, and was initiated by patriotic college students in Beijing, with the aim of calling on people across the country to fight against Japanese aggression. The movement resonated with a great number of patriots, marking a new stage of fighting Japanese aggression and striving for democracy.
