Liu Jun, a professor of electronic engineering at North University of China (NUC), delivered a lecture on quantum sensing and metrology, at Shanxi University, Nov 23.

More than 100 faculty members and students in the electronic engineering department at Shanxi University attended the lecture.

During the lecture, Professor Liu pointed out the important role that quantum sensing and metrology played in aerospace, production of military equipment and biomedical sciences. He then elaborated on the mechanism of quantum sensing and the status quo of various quantum sensors.

He also detailed the key technologies in quantum metrology in terms of the research and development of the latest quantum metrology instruments, and shared with attendees the present state of development of new quantum metrology instruments at North University of China.

Professor Liu Jun is the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and also an expert who receives a special government allowance from the State Council. He is the author of over 200 articles, 100 of which have been included by the Science Citation Index (SCI) and the Engineering Index (EI). His research interests are electromechanical systems, inertial components and navigation, as well as dynamic testing technology.
