Updated: 2017-11-03

Zong Baoning, deputy-chief engineer of Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP), delivered a lecture on national project application and production technology of organic chemicals, at Shanxi University, on Oct 30.

The lecture was attended by over 200 faculty members from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Life Science, Department of Molecular Science, Department of Resources and Environment, and the Research Institution for Crystalline Materials.

During the lecture, Professor Zong first briefly introduced several successful applications of RIPP’s key national projects in such fields as green chemistry, oil refining and chemical engineering, and then shared his experiences of applying for national projects.

Professor Zong also stated how they addressed the technical problems arising from the production of such chemical products as caprolactam, hydrogen peroxide, cyclohexanone, and epoxy chloropropane.

He also expounded on how they realized the denitration of microalgae by using nitrogen oxide from industrial emissions to breed microalgae.
