Shanxi University performed well at the 17th China Collegiate Track and Field Championships which was held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, from July 12 to 20.

A team made up of 15 students from the School of Physical Education at Shanxi University took part in the sports event, winning silver in the women's discus, sixth place in women's shot put, fifth place in the men’s triple jump, fifth place in the 3000m steeplechase, and sixth place in the men's 4 × 100m relay.

Organized by the Federation of University Sports of China, the track and field championships attracted some 3,000 athletes from 229 domestic universities and colleges.
