French sociologist appointed as SXU visiting professor

French sociologist François de Singly visited Shanxi University (SXU) for an academic discussion on July 7 at the invitation of the university's school of philosophy and sociology.

De Singly has been appointed as a visiting professor of SXU. He delivered a report on the topic of identity in Europe from the 12th to 21st century, discussing the report with attendees after his lecture.

François de Singly is a professor at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at Paris Descartes University. He specializes in the sociology of education, family and adolescence, and has published 22 monographs and 13 compilations of related research.
