CAECA delegation visits Shanxi University

A delegation from the Chinese-American Economic & Cultural Association (CAECA) led by Wei Gaorong, the chairman of the association, visited Shanxi University on June 7.

The two sides discussed academic dialogue and partnerships between China and the United States, especially between Shanxi University and American universities and colleges, as well as the outlook for the partnerships between SXU and the association.

Matters such as education projects between SXU and American universities, undergraduate education and SXU's Confucius Institute project in the US were also discussed during the meeting.

Wei Gaorong talked about his experiences in the US where he lived for 40 years and shared his views on the history and development of the US-China relationship.

Wei Gaorong is a famous social activist in North Carolina. He is active in various charities and contributes a lot to economic and cultural communication between China and the US. In 2015, he was invited as a guest to take part in the military parade held at Tiananmen Square, Beijing, in honor of the 70th anniversary of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937-45).
