The final for the second "Yuanzhi Cup" Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded at Shanxi University (SXU) on May 11.

The competition consisted of two parts, namely program presentations and Q&A sessions based on the topics of the presentations. Judges graded students’ performances based on aspects such as business patterns, implementation plans, and financial analysis of the entries.

The "Shanxi University Maker Space" program developed by the Academy of Fine Arts finally won first prize out of 11 programs.

"We hope to create an innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere at the university and train more students in the abilities of creation and entrepreneurship," said Yin Jie, vice-president of SXU.

At present, Shanxi University has been delivering related courses and advancing integration between higher education and innovation and entrepreneurship education. The laboratories and training bases focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship are currently under construction.
