A job recruitment fair targeting university graduates was launched by Shanxi University (SXU) on April 8 to boost the school's graduate employment rate.

The fair attracted more than 7,000 job seekers from SXU who proactively inquired about company and position information, and submitted applications to potential employers.

Over 150 enterprises took part in the fair offering positions in financing, marketing, computer technology, management, the chemical industry and education.

Companies present included the China Railway Urban Construction Group, the Flight School of Beihang University, New China Life Insurance Company and China’s largest dairy producer the Yili Industrial Group.

According to employers at the fair, academic performance is no longer the only element that decides the graduate’s ability. Companies now focus more on the comprehensive quality of individuals, including social experience and their views on current company prospect.
