Qiushi Journal Issue Preview: No.10, 2024

An article by General Secretary Xi Jinping on deepening reform across the board was published in this year's tenth issue of Qiushi Journal.

Noting that reform and opening up is a crucial move in deciding the future of Chinese modernization, the article states that since the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee in 2013, historic and remarkable accomplishments have been made in comprehensively deepening reform. In this process, we have proposed innovative theories, launched major initiatives and made significant breakthroughs, which are of vital importance for making historic achievements and transformative progress in the undertakings of the Party and the country.

The article points out that in order to attain the objective of the new journey in the new era, it is necessary to make comprehensively deepening reform the fundamental driving force in advancing Chinese modernization as well as a rare opportunity for us to maintain stability, respond to changes, and open up new prospects. It is also imperative to leverage the role of deepening reform across the board in injecting powerful momentum into high-quality development and Chinese modernization.

With a problem-oriented approach, the reforms should focus on removing bottlenecks that hinder forming a new development dynamic and constrain high-quality development, addressing problems concerning the development environment, people's wellbeing, and social justice, and defusing major risks, so as to provide lasting momentum and vitality for economic and social development, the article says.
