On the expansive shores of Taihu Lake, a yacht-centered transformation is unlocking new possibilities for water-based cultural tourism in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.

The Wuxi Taihu Shanshui Club and Marina, the only professional yacht club in the city, has transitioned from an exclusive membership club into a comprehensive tourist destination open to the public.

At the beginning of this year, the club was upgraded into a tourism and cultural complex that integrates sightseeing, water sports, skills training, and event hosting. Visitors can now enjoy yacht and sailboat rides, as well as paddleboarding and motorboating.

Currently, the club accommodates 99 berths and boasts a fleet of over 50 yachts, more than 10 sailboats and motorboats. It also features a multifunctional hall of 650 square meters, 12 private rooms, over 600 dining seats, and 16 guest rooms.

The yacht club is located in the core area of the Taihu Shanshui City Tourist Resort. It is about a 25-minute boat ride to both Lingshan Mountain and Yuantouzhu Scenic Area, and also provides convenient access to the Three Kingdoms and Water Margin Theme Park.

Looking ahead, the club plans to establish waterway connections with nearby attractions. During the flower-viewing season, visitors can embark from the club to enjoy the scenic beauty of Taihu Lake and surrounding attractions while avoiding traffic congestion.

The Yacht Lifestyle Experience Season and Water Carnival has launched this year, offering a range of water-based leisure experiences, skills training, and sports events. These include affordable yacht rentals, motorboat test drives, youth sailing training, a sailing-friendly invitational, and the National Motorboat Club League.
