Wuxi Museum in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, recently unveiled two new exhibitions that celebrate and explore local culture, both of which are free to the public.

An exhibition ongoing until March 5, 2026, features over 100 pieces from the Wuxi Museum's prized collection. It includes letters, paintings, calligraphy, and scholarly tools from late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) scholars. The space, layout, and lighting are carefully designed to create an immersive artistic environment that amplifies the exhibits' expressiveness.

The authors of the letters come from diverse backgrounds, including key civil and military officials and well-known artists from the Jiangnan region. These letters give a view into the lives of scholars from different social levels during the late Qing Dynasty, offering an alternative perspective on that era.

Another exhibition, running until Feb 28, 2026, presents a comprehensive art exhibition centered on Jiangnan culture, with Wuxi as a key highlight. In collaboration with institutions such as the Nanjing Museum, Suzhou Museum, Hangzhou Museum, and Shanghai History Museum, the Wuxi Museum showcases over 50 cultural relics.

The exhibition displays exquisite writing tools, inscriptions on ancient bronzes and stone tablets, as well as tea sets and drinking vessels. It shows the living spaces of Jiangnan scholars during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), emphasizing the beauty of Jiangnan's cultural and natural landscape.
