Tourists, locals flock to Huishan Ancient Town

Huishan Ancient Town in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, suddenly became a hit attraction after the month-long Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region-themed event kicked off in the scenic area on Nov 23.
Over the past weekend, the ancient town received a combined 180,000 visitors, bringing in more than 100,000 yuan ($13,802) on Nov 23.
The event features Xinjiang-style song and dance performances, specialty foods, and handicrafts, allowing locals to experience the region's exotic charm without leaving the city.
Grilled lamb skewers, hand-pulled rice, baked naan bread, and steaming milk tea – these authentic Xinjiang delicacies make mouths water. The song and dance performances are also a highlight, with performers from Xinjiang dressed in magnificent traditional costumes fully embodying the region's unique charm and exuberance.

In addition to this bustling market, visitors can tour Huishan Ancient Town to feel the tranquility and beauty of the Jiangnan region. With red maples gradually turning red, golden ginkgo leaves falling, and chrysanthemums still in full bloom, the ancient town seems to be draped in a magical golden veil.
In a week, the town's famous ancient ginkgo tree will be at its most beautiful, offering a breathtaking spectacle against the blue sky, white clouds, and white walls with black tiles.
