Wuxi to deliver grand music gatherings this month

Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province is expected to host the Second National Chinese Traditional Musical Instruments Serial Concerts and the Erquan Yingyue Wuxi International Ethnic Music Festival between Nov 18 and 26, according to the press conference held on Nov 13.
Wuxi Chinese Orchestra will kick off the serial concerts with the large-scale ethnic symphonic epic The Journey of Light, offering a grand feast highlighting traditional Chinese elegance.

From 34 national orchestral music concerts and 119 instrumental combinations submitted across the country, 10 traditional orchestral music concerts and 31 instrumental combinations have been selected for the forthcoming event. This event is scheduled to take place at the Wuxi Grand Theater and the Wuxi Great Hall of the People.
Multiple public benefit performances will also be given in the city's scenic areas, villages, communities, and other locations to promote traditional music art outside the theater.
Each performance will be live-streamed on online platforms such as the official WeChat account of China Art Headlines, Cultural China, gmw.cn, and the Charm of Jiangsu all-media platform.

During the Second National Chinese Traditional Musical Instruments Serial Concerts, the Erquan Yingyue Wuxi International Ethnic Music Festival will be held simultaneously to promote Wuxi's cultural brand as the "City of Traditional Chinese Music".
The festival will present 75 performances, including 22 indoor concerts and 53 immersive outdoor performances, featuring around 300 musicians from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, France, and other countries.
Collaborations will be established with various esteemed international art festivals, such as the Berlin World Music Festival. Strategic cooperation agreements will be signed with prominent domestic and international art institutions. Furthermore, the "City of Chinese Music" festival will be jointly launched to foster the continuous development of traditional Chinese music.
