Exhibitions commemorate 30th anniversary of Taihu Lake stamps

Wuxi, Jiangsu province, hosted exhibitions between Nov 10 and 25 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Taihu Lake stamps.
In 1994, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued the Taihu Lake stamps painted by famous artist Fan Yang. The set of Taihu Lake stamps consists of five stamps highlighting the beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake in Wuxi and a miniature sheet. In 1995, the stamps were officially issued.

The exhibitions presented the original and draft versions of the Taihu Lake stamps created by Fan, as well as associated thematic philatelic items. In addition, approximately 60 works were showcased, including landscape sketches of Taihu Lake, calligraphy pieces, and historical documents related to Taihu Lake, all produced by renowned artists throughout history.
Additionally, specially printed commemorative stamp albums, postcards, commemorative envelopes, and other related philatelic items are on display at the venue.

By inviting the original creator, Fan, to lead the excellent artists from Fan Yang Studio at the Chinese National Academy of Painting to sketch and create at Yuantouzhu scenic area near Taihu Lake, the natural beauty of the most beautiful section of Taihu Lake in Wuxi and the splendid beauty of art will complement each other, spreading their fame far and wide.
At 10:30 am on Nov 10, Fan was present at the Xu Xiake Square in the Yuantouzhu scenic area for an on-site signing event of the 30th anniversary stamp album, commemorative envelopes, and other philatelic items.
