Wuxi enchants Russia, Kazakhstan with rich culture, Jiangnan charm

Wuxi, Jiangsu province showcased its unique Jiangnan charm and rich culture in Russia and Kazakhstan in May.
The city's Wuxi Chinese Orchestra recently hosted music-themed activities in Moscow, including a youth music activity, concert, and promotional performances.

During the youth music activity, the art troupe talked with students of Gnessin State Musical College to familiarize them with the erhu, a traditional Chinese musical instrument.
The Chinese city has also joined the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism to promote its cultural and tourism attractions in the two countries.

During the trip, Wuxi showcased a number of its intangible cultual heritage items, including Huishan clay figurines, refine embroidery, Yixing zisha teapot, and Liuqing bamboo carving, while the Wuxi Chinese Orchestra performed multiple classic Chinese folk pieces.
In recent years, the Wuxi municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting and tourism has maintained close contact with the tourism industry in Russia. In 2019, the bureau established the Jiangsu Tourism (Russia) Promotion Center with the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Since then, the city has attended a number of international tourism fairs and exhibitions in Russia and organized meetings to introduce its Grand Canal, Taihu Lake, food, and culture.
