The renovation of the Hongsha Bay Ecological Park, the first phase of the Wuxi Taihu Botanical Garden, has recently been completed, marking a substantial step in the botanical garden's construction.

With a designed area of 142 hectares, the botanical garden is located in the Meiliang Lake scenic area. The 27-ha first phase covers eight themed parks for perennial flowers, hydrangeas, maple trees, azaleas and more and has about 260 plant species.

Aiming to build itself into a 5A-level scenic spot in China, the Wuxi Taihu Botanical Garden is to include three functional zones for science popularization, valley gardens, and application of plants, as well as experiencing zones for farming and growing aquatic plants.
