The 2023 Wuxi Taihu Lake Yuantouzhu Boat Race Invitational kicked off in Binhu district of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 15, local media outlets reported.

Fourteen teams from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hong Kong, and Macao were invited to participate in the competition.

After fierce competition, six teams emerged victorious, including the ShanghaiTech University Team, Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance Team, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Team, Hong Kong Universities United Team, and Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Team.

The boat race was sponsored by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee, Binhu district government, and Wuxi Culture and Tourism Development Group.

The competition is an effort by Binhu district to promote the integrated development of the tourism and sports industries, and the district plans to organize more water sport events that can be participated in by local residents.
