Traditional instrumental music contest kicks off in Wuxi

The first Yangtze River Delta Traditional Instrumental Music Competition was held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, from Nov 20 to 24.
Twenty-nine pieces of traditional instrumental music stood out from nearly 200 entries from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui to compete for top awards of the competition at the Wuxi Grand Theater on Nov 21.

After several rounds of competition, three pieces from the Wuxi Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting and Tourism, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, and Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting and Tourism received the top awards.

The award ceremony was held on Nov 23, when a traditional instrumental music performance was also staged.
