Memorial hall built for Wuxi Academy of Traditional Chinese Culture

The Memorial Hall for the Wuxi Academy of Traditional Chinese Culture will open to the public soon, local media reported on Nov 1.
Maintenance on Jimen Hall was completed in September and exhibit arrangement was finished in October.

The memorial hall is expected to showcase the Wuxi academy, including its founder Tang Wenzhi (1865-1954), development process, characteristics, and renowned alumni.
This year, Wuxi officially started a project to make good use of its 100 ancient buildings, and local authorities decided to transform Jimen Hall into a memorial hall for the Wuxi Academy of Traditional Chinese Culture.

Jimen Hall is part of the Wuxi Academy, which was established in the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and consists of three buildings.

Founded in 1920 at the foot of Huishan Mountain, the Wuxi Academy of Traditional Chinese Culture was the only school in China dedicated to teaching and studying traditional Chinese culture.
Although the academy just existed for 32 years, it still cultivated a number of outstanding experts renowned at home and abroad.
