Dingshu town in Yixing, a county-level city administered by Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, is the perfect place to experience the town's rich pottery culture and get close to the nature.

The Gunan historic and culture block at the foot of Shushan Mountain has been the center of the production and trade of purple clay teapots in Yixing since the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), making it an important site for learning about Yixing's pottery culture.

The dragon-shaped kiln in Qianshu village, which was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), is one of only two such ancient kilns in China that are still used to fire ceramics. Usually built along the steep slope of a hill, the kiln stretches upward like a dragon crouching on the hill, with its head at the bottom and tail tilting at the top.
