The Wuxi Wetland Ecological Science Popularization Museum, located in Gonghuwan Wetland Park, was officially opened to the public a few days ago.
It was the city's first wetland ecological science popularization education base, aiming to become a new destination for children to learn the importance of wetland protection in an interesting way.
Lu Yaqi, curator of Wuxi Wetland Ecological Science Popularization Museum, said that the museum is made up of three parts for introducing the information of wetland ecology, displaying original wetlands, and watching birds with concerns on biodiversity.
A small laboratory was also built in the museum, where will hold various activities such as making a micro-water ecosystem, observing wetland plants and making specimens, aiming to raise students' attention on environmental protection so as to spontaneously protect wetlands.
In addition to the indoor museum, visitors are able to walk along the Gonghuwan Wetland Park to admire natural views and get a deep understanding on wetlands. With good ecological environment, the park attracts many rare and endangered birds to stay and inhabit.
