Xinhua Bookstore, the State-owned largest bookstore chain in China and also the most popular branch bookstore in Wuxi, moved to No 403 Zhongshan Road, Liangxi district on Oct 28.

The bookstore has received local readers and consumers in Wuxi for 19 years at its former location, No 185 Middle Renmin Road.

Its new location is made up of two floors covering 6,500 square meters. The bookstore will operate and distribute various books, audiovisual products, and electronic publications of more than 500 publishing houses nationwide, with more than 100,000 products available.

The first floor will provide products covering social sciences, Chinese and foreign literature, science and technology, life and entertainment, music and art, as well as audio and video products. The second floor will have products covering cultural education, children's books, as well as cultural and sports goods.

Rest and reading areas were built on each floor to provide a comfortable and warm environment for readers.

In addition, the new official location of Xinhua Bookstore's Wuxi branch is under construction on No 99 West Xianqian Road, which is expected to start operation next autumn.
