CCTV Wuxi Studios
CCTV Wuxi Studios was built in 1987 for shooting TV series with its three main scenic spots being Tang Town, Three Kingdoms Town and the Water Margin Town. It covers nearly 100 hectares and 200 hectares of Taihu Lake’s water surface.
Close to the celebrated lake, the studios enjoy picturesque views of the lake, where tourists can take an ancient-style boat and listen to local opera while appreciating the elegance of the water town.
The studios feature many buildings in classical style, such as the Palace of the King of Wu, Ganlu Temple, Qingming Riverside Landscape Street and Huaqing Hot Spring, all of which were well researched and designed by experts.
More than 20 performances are given every day, including horse wars, songs and dances, and special-effect programs. Romance of The Three Kingdoms, Water Margin and other classic stories feature strong audio-visual impact, leaving audiences with lasting impressions.
As a famous Chinese film and television shooting base, Wuxi Studios has been the shooting venue for more than 250 films and TV series, such as The Legend of The Condor Heroes and The Legend of Lady Yang. Tourists will not only see stars on the set, but also have the chance to meet and take photos with them.
