Beijing's permanent International Horticultural Exhibition Park was unveiled on Tuesday at the site of Expo 2019 Beijing in the capital's Yanqing district. Its mission is to spread ecological civilization far and wide.

The expo ended in October.

The main pavilions, performance center, outdoor exhibition parks and public green spaces have been preserved.

The China Pavilion, one of the main structures at the park, will be rebuilt as an ecological demonstration hall to showcase China's achievements in promoting ecological civilization, according to the expo's coordination bureau.

The first Beijing International Garden Festival was also launched on Tuesday at the park. The floral show will last until Oct 15.

The iconic floral landscape of nearly 50,000 square meters has been restored for the festival, which will be held annually starting from this year.

Visitors can buy tickets for the show online. The price is set at 40 yuan ($5.65) per person for regular visits and 20 yuan per person for some special discounts. The park will be open from 9 am to 7 pm daily.

The 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo ran for 162 days after its kickoff on April 28. It welcomed the participation of 110 countries, with international organizations joining in.

The exhibition presented 3,300 activities and attracted 9.34 million tourists from home and abroad during its run.
