Eighteen Zhuhai prestigious companies in the biomedicine, integrated circuits, electronic components, and automation sectors promoted 264 job vacancies at a recruitment fair at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) on March 7. The highest annual salary offered was up to 330,000 yuan ($52,276).

Among the companies were JaFron Biomedical, the Zhuhai Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Xinghan Intelligent Technology. They received more than 400 resumes during the event and have achieved initial intention agreements with 150 candidates.

Liu Xuemeng, who majors in hotel management at MUST, noted that the direct communication with Zhuhai companies enabled her to learn more about the city's development prospect. At the event, she reached an initial intention agreement with Zhuhai Chimelong. 

A staff member surnamed Yang of Xinghan Intelligent Technology said it was the first time for the company to recruit employees in the SAR and she was surprised by the enthusiasm of Macao graduates.

Zhuhai's annual on-campus recruitment campaigns are held in two phases, in which the spring campaign runs from March to April and the autumn campaign from September to November.

The city has been holding recruitment fairs in universities outside Zhuhai for a decade and this was the first time to take Macao as the initial stop. More fairs will be held in Xi'an of Shaanxi Province, Hunan province, Chongqing municipality, and Guangzhou.
