The largest Macao-Zhuhai economic and trade event, which has attracted 42 major projects valued at 102.19 billion yuan ($16 billion) to Hengqin since 2019, takes place Tuesday, Dec 7 at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen.

The Macao-Zhuhai Entrepreneur Summit 2021 brings together government, industry, financial, and business leaders to "Jointly Build the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone."

Scheduled are an opening ceremony, 60 keynote speeches, Night of Macao-Zhuhai promotion of the investment environment, on-site project inspections, and parallel sessions on traditional Chinese medicine, modern finance, sci-tech innovation – all key industries of Hengqin -- and Guangdong-Macao interregional laws and regulations.

The summit brings together GBA entrepreneurs and high-end talents to boost the moderate diversification of Macao's economy and enhance Macao-Zhuhai influence in the area. Macao and Zhuhai entrepreneurs will be encouraged to promote projects in the cooperation zone and Greater Bay Area. From 2019 to last year 4,000 representatives have attended. 

So far this year, more than 1,547 new Macao-invested companies have settled in Zhuhai, accounting for 56.6 percent of newly established foreign-funded enterprises in the city. Actual use of Macao investment climbed by 10.2 percent year-on-year to $1.51 billion, accounting for 56.7 percent of Zhuhai's actual use of foreign investment. As of October, Zhuhai was home to 7,872 Macao-invested companies with $7.96 billion of Macao capital already in place.

The event is overseen by the Zhuhai Bureau of Commerce, Macao Trade & Investment Promotion Institute, Financial Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and CCPIT Zhuhai branch under the auspices the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government, Macao Secretariat for Economy & Finance, and Executive Committee of the Cooperation Zone. Guangdong and Macao governments, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, and Management Committee of the Cooperation Zone will provide guidance.

The organization committee says there will be strict adherence to COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures.
