Pharmaceutical-related companies from Zhuhai signed agreements for more than 100 million yuan ($16 million) in transactions at the Oct 13-16 China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) in Shenzhen.

Among the 23 successful enterprises landing 30 deals were Jafron Biomedical, Longtime Biological Technology, Meihua Medical Technology, Rongwei (Zhuhai) Medical Equipment, Ecare Electronics Science & Technology, Kano Li Lai Medical, Medcom Technology, and Medhope Technology. Six of the 30 attended only as purchasers.

The exhibition was overseen by the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Zhuhai Foreign Economic Cooperation Enterprise Association, and National Foreign Trade Transformation & Upgrading Base Biomedicine Workstation (Jinwan). Its displays covered 540 sqm (646 sq yd), and a public exhibition area of 144 sqm (172 sq yd) this year.

In-vitro diagnostic reagents and equipment for blood purification, life monitoring, electrocardiogram diagnosis, experiments, and medical imaging on display reportedly attracted interest from 30,000 visitors. The autumn session attracted more than 3,000 exhibitors and 80,000 visitors from around the world to the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.

CMEF offers an array of equipment and services needed by medical institutions. Visitors browse the latest innovative products brought by emerging market players and grasp industrial development trends through forward-looking academic conferences.
