Sustained growth is predicted for the rest of the year for Jinwan District's aviation, biomedicine, new materials, new energy, and high-end printing equipment sectors led by China Aviation Industry General Aircraft (CAIGA) and MTU Maintenance.

So far this year, the district GDP increased by 13.6 percent to 36.14 billion yuan ($5.58 billion). Notably, the growth rate of tax revenue in the manufacturing sector was 23.17 percent. The added value of biomedicine increased 8.7 percent, new materials 37.4 percent, new energy 24.8 percent, and high-end printing equipment 6.8 percent year-on-year.

CAIGA South China is assembling a 1003 AG600 aircraft at Zhuhai Aviation Industrial Park and it will be ready for a maiden flight by the beginning of next year. The AG600 series is the world's largest amphibious aircraft and the 1003 is an upgraded version of the 1001. CAIGA will master AG600 technology and overcome technical difficulties over the next five years to make the aircraft excel in national emergency rescues, according to deputy general manager Wang Bin.

A subsidiary of MTU Maintenance Zhuhai came under construction last month at a cost of 1.5 billion yuan ($232 million). Once operational, the 150,000-sqm (37-acre) subsidiary in Sanzao Town will be able to repair 300 jet aircraft engines annually and generate output value of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.54 billion).

Near Aviation Industrial Park, Zhuhai Yuren Agricultural Aviation on Hongqi Intelligent Manufacturing Street expects many orders for precise-sowing unmanned aerial vehicles after October. The first kind of its kind in the world, the product is to save cost and labor intensity through streamlined procedures.

The local aviation industry is to have more opportunities with support from the 14th Five-Year Plan for High-Quality Development of Guangdong's Manufacturing Sector (2021-25) as well as the Sept 28-Oct 3 China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China).

Moreover, construction of Gree Electric Appliances High-End Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park and Kinwong Electronic (Zhuhai) plants in the Gaolan Port Economic Zone is anticipated soon. The first phase of Ninestar Laser Printer Hi-Tech Equipment & Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park and Rianlon's new material project are close to opening.

And Jinwan is supporting the expansion of key enterprises including CR Chemical Materials Technology, Zhuhai DL Biotech, and Trinomab Biotech.
