Hi-tech companies invest $3 billion for Zhuhai locations
A signing ceremony for 25 key projects of the National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan-based) was held Aug 20 in Southern Software Park, bringing in total investment of 21 billion yuan ($3.2 billion).
The third-quarter projects cover a wide variety of areas including Shenzhen-Zhuhai cooperation, software and integrated circuits, biomedicine and medical equipment, intelligent manufacturing and robots, and headquarters economy. They are expected to generate 56 billion yuan ($8.63 billion) in output value once operational.
Chiphone Technology, a leading total display control solution provider based in Beijing, will establish a South China headquarters that will comprise R&D, sales, advanced testing, and exhibition and experience centers. A new-type display industrial cluster will center on the industrial and innovation chains of the enterprise.

An independent IP design enterprise will be established by Guangzhou CanSemi Technology. In addition to IP design services, the enterprise will design and market standard memorizers and industrial and vehicle-mounted microcontrollers. Both its investment and output value will reach 200 million yuan ($30.84 million).
Beijing Showmac will relocate headquarters and build an Internet of Things R&D base in Tangjiawan. The project will focus on the R&D, sales, and cloud services of eSIM, AIoT, and wireless audio with investment of 220 million yuan ($33.92 million) and output value of no less than 400 million yuan ($61.68 million).
Shenzhen HeavyBio will invest 500 million yuan ($77 million) to build a diagnosis science and technology industrial park and offer one-stop "raw materials + reagents + materials" solutions for in vitro diagnosis enterprises. The output value is forecasted at 450 million yuan ($69.39 million).
In addition, Shenzhen Geekvape Technology will build an electronic atomization equipment industrial park and Shenzhen Rayson Technology will set up a headquarters base. Five other cooperative projects with Shenzhen will also be advanced as the Hi-Tech Zone develops a Shenzhen-Zhuhai Cooperation Demonstration Zone.
As a new engine for Zhuhai's high-quality development, the demonstration zone will serve as a central knowledge and innovation area, which is advanced in modernized, internationalized, forward-thinking, eco-friendly, and "smart" levels.
