Zhuhai-based China Aviation Industry General Aircraft (CAIGA) received an order June 2 from Beidahuang General Aviation for 20 Cirrus SR20 (Generation 6) planes in addition to 10 received last year.

The Cirrus is the world's best-selling high-performance single-engine 4/5-seat composite aircraft. It contains a Garmin Perspective + avionics system, advanced navigation equipment, and Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). More than 8,000 Cirrus planes have been sold around the world, accounting for over 60 percent of market share. The craft is popular for pilot training and business travel.

CAIGA acquired Cirrus Aircraft (originally Cirrus Design Corp), the world's second-largest general-purpose airplane producer, as a wholly owned subsidiary in 2011. The enterprise in Jinwan District has received orders for 108 SR2X planes since obtaining a production certificate in November 2018.

Beidahuang General Aviation is located in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. For pilot training, it purchased 10 Cirrus SR20 planes from CAIGA on July 26, 2019. All had been delivered for use by Sept 1, 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. CAIGA provided technical support on several occasions, and coordinated production lines and resources from other clients to address the shortage of aviation materials.

Beidahuang also runs a certified pilot school in Heilongjiang. Each of the 10 Cirrus SR20 planes at Beidahuang General Aviation has logged up to 500 hours of flight time.

Beidahuang is China's largest agricultural and forestry aviation company. It operates 110 aircrafts for agricultural use or training with flight time of more than 20,000 hours annually. The farmlands they serve cover more than 20 million mu (1.33 million hectares, 3.29 million acres) in most domestic provinces and autonomous regions.
