Enterprises in Xiangzhou District may themselves qualify up to 200 Xiangshan Talents yearly for a series of subsidiaries, allowances, and other preferential treatments.

A detailed account of the Xiangshan Talent Program was reviewed at a July 15 meeting. It's Xiangzhou's way to implement and maximize the effectiveness of the city's comprehensive and historic Zhuhai Talents Program.

Evaluation and reward methods were defined for Xiangshan entrepreneurial, innovative, youth, and craftsmen talents. Quotas will apply to each category.

Talent program explained

For example, the annual quota is 20 Xiangshan Entrepreneurial Talents as the main persons in charge of key startups introduced to Xiangzhou. Those recognized in that category will be granted a maximum 2 million yuan ($290,600) based on the actual paid-in registered capital of their startups, plus housing and living allowances of 100,000 yuan ($14,530), to be issued in three years at a 3:3:4 ratio.

In addition, children of Xiangshan Entrepreneurial Talents and Xiangshan Innovative Talents will be prioritized for admission into public junior high schools, primary schools, and kindergartens near their residences.

All Xiangshan Talents will enjoy priority in medical treatment, housing, parent pension insurance, and other public services.

Now that more than 90 percent will be decided by local enterprises, a comprehensive talent evaluation system of "enterprise authentication + market recognition + department recommendation" will come into full play in Xiangzhou.
