Doumen sea bass processing park to be ready this fall
The above-ground part of China's largest comprehensive aquatic products deep-processing industrial park came under construction in Baijiao Town of Doumen District on April 23.
Qiangjing Food Logistics Industrial Park is being built by Guangdong Qiangjing Agriculture Group. The foundations have already been completed. After the buildings are done in late November, the park will engage in the production, R&D, logistics, storage, and culture tourism of sea bass.
Above-ground construction begins
In-house facilities include a food technology R&D center, 100,000-ton cold storage house built to international standards, and automated workshops capable of processing 2,000 tons of aquatic products daily.
Guangdong Qiangjing Agricultural Group was established in 2013 in Doumen as a private enterprise integrating asset management, industrial investment and production, and operations. Its subsidiaries are Zhuhai Qiangjing Agricultural Co, Aquaculture Technology Co, Logistics Co, Food Co, and Supply Chain Management.
In 2016, the group invested 350 million yuan ($52 million) to build the 6,000-mu (1.5-sq-mile) ecological aquatic breeding base in Doumen, by far the largest in the Pearl River Delta. It allocated more than 60 million yuan ($9 million) to bring in a Scania logistic vehicle fleet in 2017 and spent nearly 30 million yuan ($4.5 million) in food deep-processing lines in 2018.
Ready to build up Doumen sea bass industry
Doumen has 400,000 mu (103 sq miles) of fish ponds and accounts for 70 percent of national sea bass production. The new industrial park will elevate the district's sea bass processing ability, supplying customers with quality products at a stable price. It will also contribute to rural revitalization by helping local farmers earn more, said Liu Qiang, group president.
The Qiangjing Food Logistics Industrial facility is situated in Zhuhai National Agricultural Science & Technology Park.
