The seventh National University Geology Skills Competition was held at China University of Petroleum (East China) from Sept 6 to 8. Students from Yunnan University (YNU) secured second place in the event's Geological Specimen Identification category.

During the competition, YNU students showcased their deep professional knowledge, reflecting the quality of the university's geology education. The school plans to continue participating in similar competitions to cultivate more talent for the nation's geological industry.
The National University Geology Skills Competition is the only nationwide competition for university students in the field of geology, making it an important domestic event.
The competition aims to spark students' interest in geology, improve their fieldwork skills, and enhance their ability to apply geological knowledge to real-world problems. This year's event attracted 201 teams from 80 universities across the country.
