A total of 45 foreign guests visited Yunnan University for an exchange on July 3.
These guests just returned from the 2023 Lancang-Mekong (the name of the upper reaches of the Mekong River in China) Cooperation Media Summit held in Beijing on June 27. After the summit, the People's Daily organized a one-week visit for foreign guests in China. The event aims to enhance friendship between people of all countries.
Hu Jinming, vice president of Yunnan University, welcomed the arrival of foreign guests and introduced the cooperation and exchanges between Yunnan University and countries along the Mekong River in personnel training, scientific research, and cultural exchanges.
Hu said the university is set to continue to deepen Lancang-Mekong cooperation and make greater contributions to the regional development of the Mekong River.

Leaders of the university, elected representatives of teachers and students of the Department of Southeast Asian Studies of the university, and representatives of international students from countries along the Mekong River participated in the symposium.
