A group of 15 journalists from Bangladesh's mainstream media visited Yunnan University and attended a symposium there on June 14.

Hu Jinming, the university’s vice president, welcomed the press delegation and discussed the various forms of cooperation with universities in the South Asian country in international Chinese education, joint scientific research, cultural exchanges and other fields, as well as the training of Bangladeshi students and Bengali at Yunnan University.

Shahanuare Shaid Shahin, head of the press delegation and a senior reporter for the Kaler Kantho Daily, said that through this visit they gained a much deeper understanding of the fruits of such collaboration.

Both Yunnan University and the journalists said they look forward to more people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various forms in the future.

At the symposium, the journalists had in-depth exchanges with Bengali teachers and students from Yunnan University's Department of South Asian Languages as well as Bangladeshi students studying there about various issues of concern.
