The School of Pharmacy and the Dai Medical Research Institute at Yunnan University, or YNU, received achievement recognition awards in the university's Chenggong campus in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province, on April 20.

At the awards ceremony, Hao Xiaojiang, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a researcher at the Kunming Institute of Botany at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a keynote speech.

He urged the School of Pharmacy and the Dai Medical Research Institute to develop an international first-class undergraduate pharmacy major that covered South and Southeast Asia.

After the ceremony, an academic report on the centenary anniversary of Yunnan University was presented.

At a subsequent conference, three alumni – in senior respective positions at the West China School of Pharmacy at Sichuan University, the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Kunming Institute of Botany at the Chinese Academy of Sciences – shared their research achievements.

These were in the fields of pharmaceutical synthetic chemistry, chemical biology and natural pharmaceutical chemistry.
