A group of executive entrepreneurs recently launched their work Beyond Excellence (2022), following the first case collection of entrepreneurs of Xiamen Torch Academy published last year.

The book was published by Guangdong People's Publishing House.

Over the past eight months, students who participated in the strategic leadership program for outstanding entrepreneurs (Spring Session 2022), jointly sponsored by Xiamen Torch Academy and Renmin Business School, successfully completed the research and study of six modules. Through their unremitting efforts, the book was printed and published.

Zhong Yongning, editor-in-chief of Guangdong People's Publishing House, said that starting May this year, the editorial team and the editorial board of the academy had been preparing the overall outline, article style and design style of the book and senior editors of economics and management were invited to polish the content. 

"Beyond Excellence (2022) not only inherits the pragmatism and innovation of the first edition last year, but also has greatly improved its case analysis, business management model and methodology exploration. It embodies the management concept and latest thinking of entrepreneurs in the new era of China," Zhong said.

"Innovation" is at the top of the five new development concepts in China in the new era, and is also the driving force of the core competitiveness of high-tech enterprises. In the topic selection and planning stage of this book, Professor Guo Hai, the case instructor of Renmin University of China, and the educational administration team of Xiamen Torch Academy worked with the students to set "Innovation" as the theme, and four aspects as sub-topics, namely, innovation-driven to shape core competitiveness, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategy to lead the path of enterprises, active transformation to cope with the turbulent market environment, and embracing change to develop Chinese-style modern business.

"The writing process over the past six months has condensed my thoughts on the active transformation of 35.com. In response to the changes, we chose the Amoeba or OKR business model, and achieved phased results. In the book, I summarize the crises and opportunities that 35.com encountered in its development, hoping to help more enterprises who are currently or about to undergo transformation choose a more suitable path,” said Zhang Weiwei, deputy general manager of 35.com.

Liu Qi, general manager of Yuqun Investment Group, said: "The six-month writing experience has given me the opportunity to review the vivid process of turning an abandoned factory into a modern new energy automobile industrial park in two years. In the book, I focus on how to find solutions to problems faced during the construction process, hoping to inspire entrepreneurs who are interested in the post-service market of the new energy industry."

Chen Xiaolu, general manager of Fujian Search Safety & Environmental Protection Technology Service Co, said that it is an exciting journey to combine business practices with theory, and finally put it into writing.

The strategic leadership program for outstanding entrepreneurs is the first flagship project launched by Xiamen Torch Academy since its establishment on May 9, 2021. The first session was completed on December 17, 2021. The spring session in 2022 was jointly sponsored by Xiamen Torch Academy and Renmin Business School, and will be completed in January 2023.
