The closing ceremony of a three-day training program on occupational competence for young talents was held at Xiamen Torch Academy on August 7.

The special training program was jointly hosted by Xiamen Torch Academy and the Xiamen Federation of Trade Unions under the guidance of the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology. It drew the attendance of 50 people from local enterprises.

Jo Sungbum, general-manager of SK Networks(Xiamen)Steel Processing Center Co.,Ltd., You Qin, chairman of Xiamen Tianwei Technology Co., Ltd., and Liu Changjiang, board member and general-manager of Xiamen G-CVD Graphene Technology Co., Ltd., gave themed speeches and spoke with trainees about their entrepreneurship stories and experiences during the "Dialogue with Torchbearers," a special activity held on the sidelines of the closing ceremony.

Jo gave an introduction to SK Group, its presence in Asia and the Xiamen branch, talked about his life and work in Xiamen over the past two decades, and shared with attendees his efforts to master both Chinese and Japanese. He stressed that people should always be prepared to grasp valuable opportunities, learn from world-class enterprises, remain tenacious to meet challenges, and make contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

You advised college graduates to accumulate some experience and strengths before launching their own business ventures, underscored the importance of business partners as well as teamwork, and called on trainees to make a plan for their career development and to do what they like and are good at.

Liu talked about his early occupational experiences, entrepreneurial stories and investment cases with participants. He called on trainees to persist in their academic learning, be  the best version of themselves and become friends with outstanding individuals.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, Fu Jing, executive vice-president of Xiamen Torch Academy, urged trainees to adapt to their new workplaces as quickly as possible, make full use of relevant platforms built by Xiamen Torch Academy, enhance personal occupational qualifications, strengthen their capacity building in bilingual competence, adhere to the spirit of sacrifice, coordination and volunteering, maintain physical fitness, and write a fulfilled and colorful chapter.
