Xiamen Torch Academy kicked off the second session of a training program for the cultivation of comprehensive managerial talents at a ceremony held from June 10 to 11.
The session drew the attendance of 44 leading technical workers from 23 local firms.
Li Huizhou, director of the Department for Training and Curricular Affairs in Xiamen Torch Academy, presided over the opening ceremony.
Fu Jing, executive vice-president of Xiamen Torch Academy, attended and addressed the inaugural ceremony.
Fu said that the academy has collaborated with its business partners to roll out the special training program in a drive to better assist principal managerial staff in their career development, adding that the first session, which was held about half a year ago, has received warm response and great recognition from trainees and relevant enterprises.
In addition, he called on new trainees to cherish the valuable opportunity, seek knowledge from their teachers and classmates, engage in creative thinking, share personal knowledge and experience, foster a team of leaders, innovators and collaborators.
Yang Fengdi, a former coach of Chinese telecom giant Huawei's Agile Controller and senior teacher of its Managed Services Unified Platform (MSUP), related his own experience to explain useful approaches and methods in the cultivation of outstanding technical managers and team leaders from the perspectives of understanding the role of technical managers, the transformation of managerial workers, team building and incentives.
During his lecture, entitled "Transforming from a Technical Worker to an Administrator," Yang also held exchanges with trainees over typical cases available and answered their questions about thorny issues in team-based collaboration.
According to the curricular arrangements, Wang Lizhong, a veteran expert in the research & development and management of MSUP and president of Shenzhen Gewu Academy of Process Management, and Zhao Yingzhu, a MSUP trainer for innovative leadership and specially invited lecturer at Zhejiang University, will give their lectures on project management and innovative thinking & problem solving on July 8-9 and August 11-13 respectively.
Moreover, they will lead trainees to conduct an inspection tour in leading enterprises.
