Academician Zhonglin Wang appointed as advisory expert for XJTU's 'Everest Program'

On Dec 21, Academician Zhonglin Wang, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), member of the National Academy of Inventors (USA), academician of the Academia Europaea, European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and Canadian Academy of Engineering, as well as a foreign academician of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, visited Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) upon invitation. During his visit, he was appointed as an advisory expert and student mentor for XJTU's "Everest Program". He also delivered an academic lecture titled "Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) for high-entropy energy and systems" to the university's faculty and students.
Zhang Liqun, president of XJTU, met with Wang, expressing gratitude for his appointment and hope for continued collaboration in talent cultivation and scientific research to promote high-quality talent development.
The lecture was hosted by XJTU vice-president Shan Zhiwei, with vice-president Hong Jun presenting the appointment certificate to Wang. Nearly 400 faculty members and students attended the event.
In October 2024, XJTU formally launched the "Everest Program" under the Qian Xuesen Academy. This program, oriented towards cutting-edge scientific issues and major national needs, aims to cultivate a cohort of innovative leaders in science and technology with ideals, convictions, and a sense of responsibility. These individuals are expected to achieve significant breakthroughs in their fields, exert international influence, lead future development, and contribute to the advancement of human civilization.
