Two master's students from the School of Foreign Studies at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Feng Huayu and Zhao Zhiqiang, recently interned at the headquarters of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, respectively.

In June, Feng began his internship at UNESCO's Section for the Elimination of Doping in Sport under the Social and Human Sciences Sector. He contributed to the revision of the International Convention against Doping in Sport and assisted with the overhaul and translation of both the Convention and the Anti-Doping Fund websites.

In August, Zhao interned in the Human Resources Division of the IAEA's Management Department, where his primary tasks involved conducting background research for academic papers, reviewing best practices in the private and public sectors, and analyzing policies and guidelines from other international organizations.

The IAEA internship program, a collaboration between the China Atomic Energy Authority and the IAEA, announced 17 positions for 2023, open to students from 30 universities and institutions, including XJTU, Tsinghua University, and Peking University.

By April, three graduate students from XJTU's School of Energy and Power Engineering had already begun internships in Vienna.

XJTU places heavy emphasis on cultivating young talent for global governance, encourages students to intern at international organizations, and provides comprehensive and personalized career development guidance for aspiring global governance professionals.
