A delegation from the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong (JCIHK) visited Nanping Beishan on March 22, 2024.

With a guide from Beishan and an interpreter from Huafa Community Management and Service Center for Expats, more than 20 members of the delegation visited the Yang’s Grand Ancestral Hall, Beishan Guild Hall, Beishan Commercial Street, Beishan Civic Art Center and Beishan Courtyard, and were deeply impressed by the revitalized ancient buildings and the economic growth driven by cultural development.

“The ancient buildings in Beishan are really beautiful. It’s amazing to be here, a village with a history of more than 780 years, and to see these old buildings. It's actually rare to have such a secluded and cultural place in a busy downtown area”, a member of the delegation said while taking photos. The members were also interested in Beishan's tea house, Internet-influential restaurants and private home cuisine.  Every spot they went, they stopped for in-depth exchanges.

According to an official of Beishan, the village has excellent commercial and tourism resources; the rich cultural heritage adds a unique charm to Beishan, and the cultural tourism industry here has initially formed a trend of concentrated development. Currently, there are more than 200 Internet-influential shops and restaurants in Beishan, including over 20 from the regions of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. In the future, Beishan will improve infrastructure facilities, increase the publicity of cultural tourism industry, showcase cultural tourism resources and featured food in an all-round way, strengthen connection and cooperation with overseas people from all walks of life, so as to attract more tourists to visit Beishan, and further develop its cultural tourism brand in the Greater Bay Area.
