The smart manufacturing industry in Zhuhai will be further boosted with various financial incentives for technical transformation and upgrading, talent introduction, as well as investment attraction.

With a total investment of more than 80 billion yuan ($11 billion), all Zhuhai industrial enterprises above designated size will have gone through technical transformation by 2020.

By then, the city will be home to six national smart manufacturing demonstration projects, 30 provincial smart manufacturing demonstration projects, one national innovation center of the manufacturing industry, and two provincial innovation centers of the manufacturing industry. The number of robots per 10,000 people used in the manufacturing industry will reach 120.

To realize that objective, Zhuhai will reward municipal smart manufacturing demonstration projects whose output value or prime operating revenue exceed 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).

In addition, the municipal demonstration projects will receive a subsidy amounting to 10 percent of their expenditure on workshop digitalization, 12 percent of their expenditure on factory smartization, and 15 percent of their expenditure on their public service platform. The maximum amount the demonstration projects will receive will be up to 1 million yuan ($141,929).

Talents in the smart manufacturing industry are entitled to preferential policies in household registration, housing, medical treatment, and children's education.

At the district level, Xiangzhou will reward smart manufacturing enterprises the same amount of their fiscal construction in the first year of their settlement, and 50 percent of their fiscal construction in the second year of their settlement.

Industrial projects that bring in innovative smart manufacturing achievements to apply in actual production and operation will be subsidized 10 percent of the fee to the maximum of 2 million yuan ($283,857).

In-service industrial internet platforms in Xiangzhou will be granted 20 percent of their development and establishment speeding, if it doesn't exceed 2 million yuan.

Senior executive teams of local backbone enterprises will be rewarded up to 1 million yuan on bringing in upstream or downstream companies, if the acquisition amount is no less than 30 million yuan ($4.3 million).
