Xiangzhou gears up for Greater Bay Area construction

Xiangzhou District will carry out the three-year action plan (2018-20) for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through multi-pronged measures covering urban spatial layout, industrial development, and people's livelihoods.

According to Liu Qiying, head of Xiangzhou, renovation of old villages in Yinkeng, Hongwan, and Jida is currently underway, while that of the Xiangzhou North Industrial Zone and Xiangzhou Sci-tech Industrial Zone will be pushed forward. Construction on 17 commercial buildings will also be accelerated.

The district will optimize its business environment to help enterprises such as Gree Electric Appliances and Jieli Technology grow stronger. More investment will be allocated to assist Nanping Sci-tech Industrial Park expand and upgrade infrastructure.

Burgeoning Xiangzhou District

In addition, 788 hi-tech enterprises, especially unicorn and gazelle enterprises, will be given full support. Construction on innovation carriers such as Xiangzhou Sci-tech Innovation Center will be accelerated. Talents will receive preferential treatment in their housing, children's school enrollment, and parents' pension.

The modern service sector will be boosted with the introduction of headquarters enterprises, financial enterprises, industrial design enterprises, and high-end hotels.

In terms of livelihood, construction on the second phase of Xiangshan Lake Park and City Balcony will be expedited, as will a number of public kindergartens, nursing homes, and cultural-sports facilities.
