Xiangzhou District will launch its 6th Entrepreneurship Competition for University Students with a prize pool of more than 120,000 yuan ($17,446) on offer.

People can sign up for the competition at Xiangzhou Incubation Base for University Students on Lianquan Road in Nanping Town. Application forms, projects, and entrepreneurship plans should be sent to alvin.only@qq.com.

Last year's Entrepreneurship Competition for University Students 

The preliminary round in mid-September will screen out half of the projects for the next round of the competition in early October. Only 12 projects can make it to the finals in mid-October.

A prize of 50,000 yuan ($7,269) will be granted to the gold medal winner, 20,000 yuan ($2,908) to each of the two silver medal winners, and 8,000 yuan ($1,163) to each of three bronze medal winners. Four additional contestants will receive an incentive prize of 2,000 yuan ($291) each.

In addition, all the winners will be recommended to investment funds and investment agencies to gain financing.

The top 10 projects are eligible for an entrepreneurship subsidy of up to 10,000 yuan ($1,454). They will be exempted from appraisal and two years of rent to settle in the Xiangzhou Incubation Base for University Students.

The competition is jointly organized by Xiangzhou Human Resources & Social Security Bureau, Xiangzhou Human Resources Development & Management Service Center, and the Organization Department of the CPC Xiangzhou District Committee.
