Zhuhai Electronic Port began processing tax reduction and exemption applications via the International Trade Single Window System on June 10 as required by the General Administration of Customs.
The system, which strives to provide one-stop services for all import and export business, is a key step towards trade facilitation. It had already been able to process 80 percent of the main customs procedures at the end of 2018, and the proportion will rise to 100 percent by the end of 2020.
Instead of filing the same information repeatedly with different authorities, enterprises or their agencies now only need to submit electronic documents and enter information into the system one time. Not only does this increase clearance efficiency, but also saves costs for companies.
In the future, local customs will further delegate power, streamline clearance procedures, and remove administrative redundancies to create a better business environment.
